Thank you for your interest in studying at Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University within the Erasmus+ Exchange Programme.
In order to be an Erasmus student at our university, there must be an Inter-Institutional Erasmus Agreement in place between your home institution and our university and then first you must be nominated by your home institution. For this, your coordinator should send a nomination e-mail which includes following information:
• Name and Erasmus Code of your institution
• Full name and Contact Details of the Student(s)
• Field of studies
• Period of stay (Fall term, spring term or full academic year)
For traineeship, it is not necessary to sign an Erasmus agreement between institutions. If your home institution has an Erasmus Charter, then you may apply Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University to undertake traineeship.
Here is some practical information about our university and application procedure for both study and traineeship exchange:
At Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University, we provide instruction on four degree programs (Short, First/Bachelor, Second/Master, and Third/Doctorate Cycle). There is not any restriction for Erasmus students in that if your institution accepts you may choose your courses from any faculty and department.
Although language of instruction is Turkish at our university, every academic year, we arrange a list of courses taught in English and inform Erasmus students about this list. We will try to publish this list on our web page or you may ask from International Relations Office.

Every academic year, we determine the application deadline according to academic calendar. You should send all necessary documents till the date we announce as deadline. In order not to waste too much time with posting, at first step we accept scanned copies by e-mail and we expect you to send original copies also by snail mail.
Documents that have to be submitted:
• Application Form (You can find it on our web page): Please fill the Application Form for Erasmus Students on computer and after you have it signed and stamped by your institution send us.
• Learning Agreement for Studies (signed by the student/Erasmus Coordinator): Please prepare your learning agreement featuring the intended courses and send us scanned copy via e-mail. You can get information about “courses” and their contents from the links above. You can check our webpage for preparing “Learning Agreement”. Trainers should prepare the Learning Agreement for Traineeships.
• Transcripts of Records: It should be your previous transcript that you receive from your home university.
• 2 passport sized photos (at first step scanned copy is needed).
After departmental coordinator as well as institutional coordinator sign your Learning Agreement, we will accept you as an Erasmus Student at our university and write you an invitation letter.

HOW TO REACH US
Bandirma is a small town near the Black Sea in the northwest of Turkey. It is very close to both Istanbul (the most popular city) and Bursa-just in the middle of these two cities. Although Bandırma does not have its own airport, you can reach here by plane through airports located in these two cities. However; since it is easy and quick, we suggest you come here through Istanbul.
Istanbul does have two airports: one (Sabiha Gökçen Airport) is in Anatolian side and the other one (Atatürk Airport) is in European side. You can easily plan your journey from these airports in that there is a good connection from airports to bus stations and ferries.
If you get to the Atatürk Airport, first you should reach Yenikapı Ferry station by taking subway (Airport-Yenikapı Metro) and get off from subway in Yenikapı stop. After that you should take a ferry to Bandırma. (Approximately 2 hours)
If you use Sabiha Gökçen Airport, there are some travel agencies which can transfer you from airport to Bandırma such as Akmis Seyahat. It takes almost 2,5 hours to reach Bandırma from Sabiha Gökçen.
When you get to the Bursa Yenişehir Airport, first you should reach Bursa Bus Station by taking HAVAŞ buses. After that you should take a bus from Bus Station to Bandırma (almost 2 hours).
How to get Bandırma University?
When you get to the Bandırma Bus Station, it is easy to reach Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University from station as it takes just about twenty minutes. Most of bus firms have their own minibuses directly to the Bandırma Onyedi Eylül University. You may also use local transport system. If you want to come directly to campus, you should go first city center by taking blue minibuses and take another one in the city center.
CHECKLIST for YOUR FIRST DAYS AT BANDIRMA ONYEDI EYLUL UNIVERSITY

Meet your Departmental Erasmus Coordinator at department and revise your Learning Agreement
Take your passport, 2 photos and “Student Identification Form” with you and go to the Registrars Office and see Mr. Mustafa Parlak to get your student ID number, also your official letter to apply for residential permit.
Attend the Orientation Week for new incoming Erasmus students organized by the International Relations Office
Have your papers ready for your residence permit. The requirements will be announced during orientation week.
Get your Official Letter from the Registrar’s Office which is required by the Immigration Office to apply for your residence permit.
Apply for your residence permit at the Immigration Office within 4 weeks of your arrival
Get your residential permit on the date given by the Authorities.
If you need to make any changes on your Learning Agreement, you have to do it in 3 weeks. Please bring one copy to the International Relations Office
As International Relations Office, we do not provide accommodation; however, we are trying to help as soon as possible. For student mobility:
Unfortunately Erasmus+ students do not benefit from university’s dormitory. But they can stay private dormitories or apart all of which have an easy acces to the campus. The rent is on average and the rooms are always furnished. It also makes sense to share the flat with other Erasmus+ students or to rent a small apartment yourself. Moreover, most of our students reach us to host Erasmus+ students at their houses as a roommate or a housemate.
As Office, we have also created a buddy system in which we assign buddies to each student or to ask former outgoing students to assist Erasmus students during their whole stay about accommodation, travel arrangements and about giving information about the university, city and the country in general. For staff mobility
Staffs who come Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University within Erasmus+ Mobility program can stay at our university’s guest house by paying the fee by themselves. The fee per person for per night is 30 TLs.

Orientation is very helpful for the students in understanding the academic procedures and regulations of the University. We strongly recommend all incoming students to attend the orientation programme.
Exchange Student Society
Exchange Student Society is going to be established by students from different faculties in 2017 to help incoming and outgoing Exchange students during their Erasmus experience. Exchange Student Society (hereafter, ESS) will cooperate closely with International Relations Office.
The focus of ESS will be to foster friendships that will enlarge Erasmus students’ Professional and social network.
What We Do
The main focus of ESS is placed on all current Erasmus students in Bandirma. ESS offers help in academic, social and practical integration process.

Football, basketball, bowling ect. tournaments
Welcome party and Farewell party
We plan to carry out a "Buddy-Mentor Programme" which helps the Erasmus students mainly in academic and practical integration. The programme is designed especially to introduce Erasmus students to the city, the places to go out and to integrate them in Bandirma way of life.
Once you have subscribed, you will be matched with local Mentor (A student of Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University ) who has voluntary taken the task upon him/her to guide one or more Erasmus students. Your Mentor will try to pick you up) at main train station or at inter cities bus station.
Helping about the reaching to the campuses, IRO and your own departments.

Turkish Student Visa
Student visas must be obtained from a Turkish Consulate, generally the one nearest your place of residence. Student visas cannot be obtained within Turkey. You must take your "Letter of Acceptance" from Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University and apply to the Turkish Consulate with the other required documents.
Please note that it may take up to 8 weeks to get the visa. You may find Consulate information through the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs website: http://www.mfa.gov.tr
All international students in Turkey, regardless of status, must register with, and obtain a Residence Permit (ikamet belgesi) from Office for Foreigners (Yabancilar Subesi).
If you are going to stay in Turkey more than 90 days, you have to get a residence permit document even if you have visa. You have to apply for it to the police station within 30 days of your arrival. For Turkish incoming students, if they are still Turkish citizens, they do not need to take residence permit document.
After you arrange your accomodation and your address in Bandirma becomes clear, you have to fill in the application form for residence permit document we will send you via e-mail upon your arrival. You have to fill in the front page (ön yüz) of the document and along with six passport size of same photos of yours and hand in to us within the period we will inform you so that we can arrange other requsted official documents of yours. You have to fill in all the blanks without any mistake, but you should ignore acompanions (refakatindekiler) section.
We will take all incoming students to police station in order to help communication at the police station. You must have the requested amount of money on the day we will go to police station. Last academic year, the fee for residence permit was 198 T.L. we will inform you about the money before we go.
Before Leaving Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University
1. Please be sure that you gave your completed Learning Agreement to International Relations Office and get your original ones before you leave.
2. Please be sure that you turned in; - The monthly room payment bills. - The room key, - Dormitory ID card to the dormitory if you have stayed on campus.
3. Please be sure that you completed your duration sheet, showing your arrival and departure dates and get signatures from IRO. And give one copy to the IRO.
4. Please be sure that you got your release form from Registrars Office/Institute and after having necessary signatures give your Bandirma Onyedi Eylul University Identification Card and release form bacl to Registrars Office/Institute.
